I’ve been in the pet & vet industry for over 10 years, and there’s a common theme I see that I realised had no attention or support.
Leadership in the industry- or more bluntly, a HUGE lack of/ training on being a better leader.
Everyone has leadership potential. Simple as that.
It’s those who WANT to learn, improve their skills and look at themselves (and I mean REALLY look) who become great leaders.
I’ve met a few in my last decade or so, but I’ve met MANY who have no interest in leadership at all. All they wanted was the pay check that came with the title.
I’m starting a movement to make leadership training more accessible to Veterinarians, Practice Managers & Veterinarian nurses. ALSO people who work in the pet industry who have encountered negative leadership and KNOW they can do better or WANT to do better.
